Quote of the day

"I guess God decided not to put a baby in your tummy. I really, really, like girl babies."
-Audrey

P.S. If anyone is feeding Audrey these lines, then shame, shame on you.

Audrey's View

Audrey had camera in hand this afternoon and snapped a few dozen pictures with it. Here are a few of life from her perspective.

Ben giving the Exersaucer a try.

Daddy exhausted from his early flight back from FL.
Mommy: up close and personal.
Murphy and his favorite baby toy.

Wonderful Wednesday

Why is this Wednesday so wonderful? Because this house has been vomit free for almost 4 whole days! Woo hoo. Ben's appetite is back and the smell of bleach is still in the air. Ahhh, health. Here are some pics from this afternoon.

Hanging out having a nice time on the couch...

Oh, here comes Audrey. Wonder what she has in store for me...
A sweet kiss. A wet willy??
You've got to be kidding me. Gotta get mobile...soon!
(Ben's face speaks volumes)
Now that's more like it! Note: Look closely and you'll see the beginnings of a hair line on Ben. I think they put Rogaine in his IV at the hospital.

Recovering...

Wow. It was a loooong week last week. All 4 of us suffered the wrath of some sort of stomach virus. Jeff got it first and we were all feeling fine so we thought we dodged the bullet until Ben started to throw up, then me a day later and then Audrey about 12 hours after that. Poor Ben had to go to the ER and get IV fluids to get rehydrated and the rest of us drank water and nibbled on the occasional saltine. Sunday morning I woke up looking like a celebrity mugshot (think Gary Busey meets Joyce DeWitt), but feeling sooo much better. Thank goodness we are all on the mend now. I don't know if I could have handled much more of that. No pictures this week- barf doesn't really photograph well. Good health to you all!

Little Raptor

So, some of you may know that Jeff was once a Raptor....a minor league division of the Milwaukee Brewers.....anyway, the wonderful, kind, awesome, people who housed him that year sent Ben some Raptors gear. He's busting out of this shirt, but has a larger outfit to move into after this one. He looks happy though...future pitcher? Right now he's a professional drooler, and that's enough for us.

Love is....

Adoration....

Tolerance...

The Naked Chef

You already know that Audrey loves to crack eggs, but she also love to eat eggs. Not just any eggs though, blue eggs, green eggs, pink eggs (gross). I figure whatever gets her to eat something good for you is worth a little artificial coloring. Here she is sporting the outfit she wore most of yesterday afternoon making her blue eggs.

Jump!

Looks like we've got another jumper on our hands! Audrey launched herself to the moon in her Jump-A-Roo on a regular basis, and so far Ben is also a fan. He really has a good time bouncing himself and is very interested in the toys right in his face. I think this picture tells the story better than I can.

Roller skates.

I think it would be more efficient if we just practiced in the parking lot at the E.R.

P.S. And yes, she does have to pee.

Compromise

You just can't have it all, Bailey.

Checking out his feet.

Good friends, good times.

We went for a visit in Greensboro to see some of Audrey's best buds. Audrey has been begging to go to the zoo too, so I figured why not kill 2 birds with one stone? The Science Center in GSO has tigers, wolves, monkeys, and a whole bunch of other stuff, but without the pain of the actual zoo. We had a great time with Seth, Liam, and their Mommy. Here is a picture of the 3 amigos goofing around under the giant turtle shell.

Milestone

No pics of this, but knew you were all dying to know that Ben rolled over for the first time today!!!

Quick pics.

Not much to say right now, really, but figured I'd share a few pictures with you today.

Neither child is particularly amused by my attempts to get a cute photograph. Audrey also keeps messing with the settings on my camera, so the first few are always blurry. Note to self: check settings before snapping.

Happy boy with blue, blue, eyes. They're almost a royal blue color. Handsome.

Clarinet

Audrey has been hounding me to play my clarinet for her since she found it in the closet the other day. So...I cracked it open and gave it a whirl. Audrey LOVED it. She was so fascinated by the sound and all of the keys. Ben on the other hand....HATES it. You would have thought he was getting 10 vaccinations or had just gotten stung by a bee. He screamed, turned red, wailed. Stop clarinet = stop crying. Try it again...cry again. Guess he's more of a brass guy, or maybe percussion. I let Audrey try it though (while Ben was napping) and she got a few notes out! Future musician? We'll see.

Quote of the Day.

"Bailey threw up in my playroom so I caught her in Ben's hamper. She won't do that again."
-Audrey

Happy Birthday Pop!

A big birthday shout out to Pop! We wish we cold be there to celebrate with you!

4th of July weekend

We had a wonderful 4th of July weekend! The weather was absolutely perfect! We had lots of fun that we did not capture on camera, but I do have a few pictures to share. The new patio and porch got some use this weekend and we grilled out Saturday night. Sunday we went to a friend's house and watched a big fireworks show. They also had big slides and bouncy things at their pool and Audrey ran herself to complete exhaustion, she had an absolute blast!

Jeff, Ben, and Audrey taking a break from grilling to snap a photo.

Silly girl goofing around.

Audrey took this one of Daddy.

Ben chillin' on the porch.

The screened porch.
Stamped concrete patio.

Be afraid, very afraid.

Audrey got a birdhouse kit for her birthday last year, so she painted it and we put it together and Jeff hung it on her playhouse in the backyard. Very soon after putting it up we had a resident! A blue bird, (blue in color, I don't actually know what variety of bird it is) set up camp and started building a nest. We saw 3 eggs in there very soon after and have enjoyed watching them hatch and have spied on them several times. They are getting pretty big now, and every time I go out there to try to look or get a picture this week Mama bird dive bombs my head and tries to gouge my eyes out. She has it out for me!!! Doesn't that bird go anywhere to get food for her babies? I have had to hit the deck and run for my life a few times. I guess I'll give up now. She's relentless. I'm officially scared of her.
