Sippy cup!

I handed Ben a sippy cup today and he knew exactly what to do with it! He grabbed it and chugged down a few ounces of water right away. Way to go Ben!

Six Months!

Ben turned 6 months yesterday. Where does the time go? He is still as sweet as he can be and has the most delicious chunky thighs you've ever seen.
Ben's latest stats:
Weight: 17 lbs 11 ounces = 50th percentile
Height: 27 inches = 75th percentile
Head: 40th percentile

Audrey looked in the mirror this morning and said "Mommy, I look like Ben today." I hate to break it to you Audrey, but you look like Ben every day!

Audrey is....

...a little bit of everything all rolled in to one...she's a cuddler, comedienne, ballerina, gymnast, spitfire, stubborn, loving, running, jumping, manipulating, almost 4 year old. It's a mixed bag every morning as to what Audrey is going to be when she walks down the stairs. It's an adventure for sure. Here are 2 examples of my darling daughter:

Merit badge

Audrey earned a merit badge for changing a poopy diaper today. I was in the bathroom and I heard Audrey tell me Ben had a dirty diaper and when I came out she was wiping him and putting a new diaper on. There was no mess! I don't know if it was beginner's luck or not, but I'm hoping she doesn't try this again.
Papa, you're not going to let Audrey have more merit badges than you, are you?

Rainy day.

It's a rainy Thursday and after a super duper wonderful trip to Super Walmart with both kids (SARCASM), we decided to stay inside and goof off. Here are some of my favorite photos from today. There's one thing for certain- ok 2 things: 1) Audrey loves her baby brother, 2) I have cute kids!

Nine. Nine years of wedded bliss. Two apartments, three houses, one cat, two dogs, two kids, a lot of jobs, and one great love. Happy anniversary to us!

First day of preschool!

Yay, it's here! The first day of preschool has finally arrived. I am not sure who was more excited, me or Audrey. She was ready to go and ran all the way in to school and didn't look back. It's awfully quiet around here this morning. Ahhhh.

Monkeying around

No fear for this little monkey! Audrey is convinced to do the most dangerous things on the playground, whether or not I like it. The monkey bars at this playground are really, really high up so that only older kids can reach them. Of course, while I was changing a diaper, Audrey took advantage of my limitations and decided to shimmy up the pole next to the monkey bars, inch her way over and go for it. She did great, made it all the way to the other side, but then could not get down. At least she asked me to come get her before she dropped to the ground.

Ben has been weeble wobbling at sitting for a few days now, but he just decided to sit up and hang out this afternoon! Of course, by the time I got the camera and found batteries be was a little tired, but still sitting. Here's the photographic proof.

I can't wait for pre school to start so she can ask her teacher these questions instead of me.

Dear Jesus,

So...Audrey has given up on me having a baby girl and has moved on to praying for her own babies...when she is married and grown up. "Dear God, please give me 2 baby boys and 2 baby girls. The boys will be twins and they will both be Owen and the girls will not be twins, but they will be named Susie." She has said this prayer at least 10 times in the past 2 days.
Nothing like planning ahead!

...peas porridge cold, peas porridge in the gut, 5 months old. In true Berry fashion, Ben loves himself some food! So far it's all "fit'n to eat!"

Baby Jesus-y

I have a partial explanation for the quote of the day. Audrey was wrapping Ben up in this blanket, and that is how he came to look all "Baby Jesus-y." I am still trying to figure out the Mother Goose thing, but I guess there are some things I will never understand.

Hooray!

Sadly, I do not have a photograph of this momentous event, but just picture it....Audrey learned how to swing by herself! This is huge news, as any mom of a pre-schooler knows, I don't have to juggle an infant and push a swing. Hooray for Audrey. We are so proud!
