Harvest party!

Today was the Harvest party at pre-school. It's been a busy month at school! Ben and I joined in on the fun and it was a great time. Audrey was very excited to perform for us and was the "ham" I knew she would be.
Saying the prayer before lunch. This is the "Superman prayer." " Thank you God, for giving me foooood." Now sing that to the tune of the Superman theme.

I think this is still part of the prayer. Ben is intrigued.
Getting ready to perform.

All the little pumpkins.

A wonderful rendition of "Five Little Pumpkins."

This little pumpkin had a silly grin.

This must be a new kid.

My little ghoul.

Some days it would be easier to lock him up.

My 2 little monsters.

Happy birthday Papa!

Dad's birthday was yesterday and Audrey and I sang him a rendition of "Happy Birthday" that only a Papa could love. We love you very much and hope that you had a wonderful day.

They really are the best of friends....for now.

Quote of the day

"Mommy, I think God is holding my heart right now. It feels a little funny and I am happy."

Proof

Ben's favorite food is spinach, and few believe it. Here is photographic proof of Ben and his Popeye style dinner. Yum!

The ghosts of Halloweens past

Since Halloween is fast approaching and this year's costumes are already waiting in the wings, I thought I'd jog down memory lane a bit.

2006: An almost 1 year old Chick-fil-A cow toddled along Crystal Lake Drive.

2007: My baby bumblebee hit 5 or 6 houses in Cardinal Cove.
2008: Under the sea with Ariel, but in Concord this year. Look at the change between 2007 and 2008! She left baby behind!

2009: Super Audrey! She's not flying solo this year though....
Super girl had company in 2009 form Super Ben (at peak chubbiness)!
What will this year bring???

Quote of the (a recent) day

"Are you serious, XM?
-Audrey

I guess she hears my radio say Sirius XM and thought that might be proper usage.

Atlanta visit

We loaded up the car this past weekend and headed to the ATL to visit Kady, Dan, and Maggie. The weather was fabulous and the company was top notch as well. Not to mention that BOTH of our teams (FSU and Clemson) won their games. It was a great weekend.
Audrey and Maggie.

Audrey enjoyed being the big cousin and enjoyed Maggie immensely.

She swings....

and she misses,

but she's got a lot of heart!

Even though Maggie looks like Dan, she is a CUTIE PIE! Ha!

Aunt Ginger and Maggie.

Getting everyone to smile and look at the camera just was not going to happen.

Five little pumpkins.
Our 4 jack-o-lanterns in all their glory.

The tire swing was an huge hit.

Wheeee.
You can't not have a great time in the swing.

Nothing like the wind in your hair!
The always stylish (and sun sensitive) Maggie.

Maggie getting used to this swing thing.

Teaser....

....for a certain antsy blog follower.  Stay tuned.

Career day!

Today was career day at pre-school and Audrey was excited. She has known her carer destiny for a while now and was ready to dress the part.

Here she is...Dr. Audrey, D.V.M.

Surprise! A new dishwasher!

Pumpkin festival

Mom, can we pet the animals? No. Then why do they call it a petting zoo? Audrey is clearly a little irritated with the false advertising.
With a cluck cluck here and a cluck cluck there.....EIEIO. It is really fun to listen to Ben try to sing EIEIO!

Who is ready for the pig races!
Red is in the lead, but will orange make a comeback?!?! This was a lot of fun to watch. No piglets were harmed in the racing.
Corn pit. Don't worry, we all took thorough baths once we got home.

Wooooo.
To eat or not to eat, that is the question.

We tried to get a good picture of the 3 of us.

The resident athlete in action.

Face painting is serious business.
I have no idea what Ben is looking at, but who can resist those blue eyes!
Contemplating the pumpkin.
It think it will make a nice resting spot.
And a good time was had by all, really!

Touchdown!

It feels so good to watch the Noles play a great game! Even Bailey got into the action and celebrated a touchdown!

Happy birthday Mama!!!

You make 65 look like 45. I love you "Momma" you are the best and if  I can be as awesome as you by the time I'm 75, I will have exceeded my goals. Did I mention that I love you?!

Super cute!

Just kidding. THIS is the quote of the day....

"Dad, give Mom all your money, it will make her happy."
-Guess who

Quote of the day

"Mommy, we should go ice skating again soon. We should take the whole family this time, except the ones that already died along time ago."

Goldie locks?

"Look Mom! Ben has blonde curly hair just like me!" I will admit that this is what Audrey's hair looks like some mornings...

Quote of the day

It has been dry, really dry, and the yard is suffering, but Daddy does the best he can. Today he tilled up a few sections in preparation for seeing in the immediate future. One of these sections was right in front where all the friends could see, I suppose...

"Mom, what is going on here? It looks like we don't know how to take care of our yard!?!"

"Daddy is getting ready to plant some new grass seeds."

"Well he better do it fast, this looks bad!"
