A super day!

So far I've had a super day with my two little superheros! We went to a costume party today and had a wonderful time. Audrey got to play with her friends, but there were also a handful of babies just right for Ben to play with. We are going to lay low this afternoon and put the costumes back on again for trick-or-treating tomorrow evening.

Super Audrey!!

and Super Ben!
The best we could do for a group shot.
Big sisters and baby brothers.
The little ones decided to ditch the costumes and work on their crawling skills.

Harvest Party

Audrey had her Harvest Party at pre school today and had a wonderful time! I didn't get a chance to take many pictures, but here are a few to document the event...
She had a great time decorating and eating cookies, making a book about the 5 little pumpkins, and who can forget the highlight of the day... pumpkin bowling! It was hard to get too many pictures while holding a baby and dodging fourteen 3 and 4 year olds and a rolling pumpkin!

Peek-a-boo!

7 months

Happy 7 month birthday to Ben! He continues to be completely adorable and as sweet as he can be. He has quite a voice and is starting to express his discontent whenever he is left alone. Here are a few pics of the little man from this morning.

Slow week

It's been a slow week here, so pardon the lack of posts. Audrey was sick, and now Ben and I are also sick. Audrey and I did manage to get out yesterday to see the Charlotte Children's Theater production of Beauty and the Beast. It was WONDERFUL!!!! I highly recommend it if you are in the area. Audrey thoroughly enjoyed herself and was beaming from ear to ear, giggling, clapping spontaneously, and just plain having a ball! We will have to make an effort to do more of these events in the future. Audrey is also currently wearing her Belle dress, as I suspected.

Quote of the day

"I don't think the dogs have any brains."
-Audrey

"Ditto"
-Mommy

Splish splash!

Ben loves to take a bath! He also really needs a bath most of the time due to his manners at the dinner table. Little Ben loves his solids and his Baby Mum Mums! Thanks goodness for stain remover.

My pumpkins

My two little punkins
Audrey making Ben smile for the camera. I laughed so hard when I first saw this picture.
Audrey says, "soooo big."
Always teething...Ben is getting 3 teeth, none of them are the front 4.

Question of the day

"Will Ben have a mustache when he grows up?"
-Audrey

"Not likely."
Thought bubble: Another thing to pray for....please don't let Ben choose a mustache when he grows up. This prayer however may be null and void since his father only has to shave once a week.

Cat tails

As if Bailey didn't already have enough to worry about....along comes Ben. He's been so sweet until now, so easy to cuddle next to, so passive. Look out though Bailey, he's on the cusp of mobility and seems to be just as much a cat lover as his big sister.

Self portrait

Audrey took this of her and Grandma. That little girl loves to take pictures! It won't be long before she takes better pictures than I do...or maybe she already does.

Breaking news!!

Ben can say "mama" and he knows to say it to me!
I'm sure "dada" is right on the tip of his tongue though.

UPDATE: Ben did go on to say "dada" today, but not to his Dada. He also seems to be a Seinfeld fan, as he said yada yada too.

Random cuteness

Here are some random cute pictures from this weekend. Grandma was taking the pictures and I was laid up on the couch, so it's just the kids, which are the cutest part of this family anyway.

Ben gnawing on his chew toy. He's getting a molar and an incisor, but no front teeth yet.
Trying to decide which toy to play with.
Taking a break from launching himself to the moon in the jumperoo.
Counting his toes.

Playing pat-a-cake with big sister.

Woot-woo!

Grandma got a new hair-do from my stylist for her birthday and here are the results! I think it looks pretty good.

Happy birthday Grandma!!!

Just a really quick blog before I get in trouble for being out of bed. Happy, happy birthday to Grandma!!! We are so glad you are here to share it with you. I had my deviated septum fixed today and Grandma came to help take care of me and us. What a great present for her? Love you Mom!! How does 59 feel this year?

Enjoying Grandma's cake that we made for her.

This week's career changes include:
-animal Dr. (especially for bunnies)
-garbage girl (santitation engineer)
-artist (I wanted to be this too)
-the Dr. that is at the hospital that helps people when they are sick (not the Dr. that tells you to take 2 aspirin and go home)
-Just like you Mommy (great, 15 lbs overweight and always tired? I mean...Awwww)

Flashback! Waaay back!

Here's a flask back to the early days...of me. It reminds me a lot of a picture I recently took of Ben and Audrey.
Please reference a post from September 17, 2009 to see the pics I am referring to.

Misty Monday

It's been misting all day long and actually a day where you could officially say brrr... a little bit. I don't think the sun peeked out once today, so it was a good day to send Audrey to preschool and an even better day to nap on the couch. Who are we kidding though, I don't get to nap! Instead of napping, we hit the craft store sale rack after preschool and picked up enough craft items to last for a full week of rain.

The mask and the masterpiece!

Explain to me why I am holding a doll.

Doll or no doll, I'm a doll!

A boy and his dog

Murphy loves to be loved. Sometimes that means getting ridden like a horse worthy of the most lovely princess, sometimes it means Murphy gets to wear the tiara, and someday soon it will be something a little more masculine, thanks to Ben. Right now Ben likes to grab Murphy's whiskers and pull on his ears, but I'm sure someday he'll have grand adventures planned for the two of them.
Neither of them look particularly enthused about my camera, but sometimes you take what you can get.
