Look, no hands!

I think I finally figured out this baby wearing thing....95% anyway. He fell asleep right away, so this could be a good deal if I get this running smoothly.

Saturday in the Burbs

Today was a fairly lazy day. Ben and Daddy watched Mr. Zach play (very well) in the Quail Hollow Championship and Audrey played outside in the warm sunny weather that we did not expect today. I did a little of everything as usual, as any Mom knows, there is always something to be done. Here are a few pics from the day.

The house that Daddy built.

The Easter bunny and the Stork decided to chip in and get big sister something to do in her back yard this summer. The instructions said it would take "2 moderately skilled people 6-8 hours to assemble." Hmmm. Should have ripped off the cover page before showing the instructions to Jeff as not to scare him. Turns out Jeff must be fantastically skilled because he put it together by himself in one (long) afternoon. Audrey loves it, as do the dogs who think they just got the coolest dog house on the block. First prioroty for Audrey was to pick out and plant flowers. She waters them everyday just like any good homeowner should.

Up to the highest height...

Finally....we got a kite that did not break in the first 30 seconds out of the package, and a windy day! Audrey has been begging to fly a kite and of course singing the song too since a Mary Poppins viewing not too long ago, so here we are flying a kite!!!

TEN!

Happy birthday Bailey Cat!! You have managed to knock off several of your 9 lives over the years and have made it to 10! You've suffered kidney failure, spent the night treed by a German Shepherd, tolerated 2 dogs and now 2 children, had your claws ripped out of one paw, and somehow your 10 year appt finds you healthier than you've been in years. We love you Bailey, even though we don't get as much quality time with you these days. Thanks for keeping my feet warm at night and my hand muscles in good working order (spraying the barf remover sprayer). Here's to 10 more years with you.

5 Weeks Old

Ok, so I missed the one month picture, but here are some of Ben at 5 weeks. He has really started to change this week and look less "newborn-ish". Yesterday Ben had his longest awake time ever and spent a few hours wrapping us all around his finger.

One month

Happy 1 month birthday to Ben. Picture to come later.

Monday already?

This weekend flew by way to quickly and the week is starting off with much too little sleep, at least for me. Anyway, here are some pictures from the weekend in our house.

Audrey all ready for the fountain at Birkdale. Ben is enjoying the weekend with Daddy.
Milk coma.

Ben is getting much better at grabbing things.

Her Proudest Moment

This is Audrey's proudest big sister moment yet. One of her big sister books says that she can give the new baby a bottle and Audrey has been a little skeptical since there were no bottles to be found, until this morning. Ben and Audrey enjoyed this moment and big sister is looking forward to more opportunities like this one.

Ben smiled at me 3 times yesterday!

Soccer Knocker

Audrey started soccer yesterday and was very excited about it. Class did not start until 4p, but she put on her soccer outfit first thing in the morning! She did great and really enjoyed the class....except for the part where they gave her her uniform shirt. She became very upset and wanted to leave immediately. She wanted to wear her PURPLE shirt and not the white shirt. We managed to suffer through class in the white shirt and as soon as we got home she wanted to put her purple shirt back on. she may look like her father, but she's every bit her mother inside.

Warming up

This girl has got skills!

Good game.

Bath time for Ben

Ben is tolerating his bath time quite well. There's a little protest, but overall I think he'll grow to enjoy his baths. Audrey cannot wait for him to be big enough to take a "big" bath with her. The cutest thing about bath time is the apricot colored little afro that Ben has when his hair is wet. It does not translate well to photographs so I can't share it with you as well as I want to, but I think his hair is going to be curly as well!

Here's another picture of Ben kicking back and relaxing in his swing.

Picture potpourri

Here are a few more pictures from this past week. Pardon the lack of text, but let's face it, you're here for the pictures anyway.

Chillin' and checking out the new scenery.

Torturing the cat is better than torturing the baby brother.

Mommy and Ben

Grandma and Ben- Ben sporting his new double chin...he weighed 9 pounds on Thursday.

Snoozing in the swing.

I have no explanation for this one.

The Middle Child

Oops-a-daisy. Happy belated birthday Murphy! I forgot his birthday until the day was almost over yesterday. Murphy turned two years old yesterday and did manage to get a new toy and a cake to celebrate (thanks to Dad). Happy Birthday also to Yaya, Aunt Muffy, Macklin, Stella, Yaz, and Duke (Murphy's siblings).

You decide....

Here is a side by side of my babies at about the same age- 1 week-ish.
Is there a sibling resemblance?

Hippity hoppity....

Easter's on it waaaayy. Last weekend we were out to lunch and Audrey decided she had to see the Easter Bunny. Previous attempts at the Easter Bunny have been unsuccessful- but that was a year ago. I guess she's decided she needs to buddy up to anyone that might know Santa.

Another curly top?

I'm not sure if this was my idea or Audrey's, but here's a glimpse of Ben with hair!

The Week in Review

It's been a busy week here at the House house. I didn't get much sleep last night, so I'll make this short and sweet and let the pictures do the talking for me...

Audrey and Daddy gearing up for the Masters. They played 9 holes together last weekend.

She still likes him! Audrey is a very proud big sister and tells everyone she meets about Ben.
He's starting to get a double chin. Today's 2 week check up reveals that Ben is 8 lbs and 2 oz.Here's a teaser from Ben's newborn photo shoot. We are anxiously waiting to see the rest!

Aunt Kady, the Easter Bunny....Aunt Kady came to visit this week and made Audrey's day, and mine too! She was so helpful entertaining Audrey and also cooks and cleans! Come back soon Aunt Kady!!!! Audrey was lucky enough to have Aunt Kady do a pre-Easter egg hunt. She had a blast and got lots of loot!

Today

Audrey had her Easter parade at school today since they will be on spring break next week. Her class was dressed as Easter eggs and they had to do the parade in the gym since it was raining yet again. She had a great time and had a parade at home later in the afternoon as well.

Audrey and some of her fellow eggheads.
Self portrait of Audrey and Daddy.
Here are some super cute pictures of Audrey cuddling with her baby brother and finally one of him with his eyes open!
